Short trip from Cyusyo-jima to Fushimi casttle and O-iwa-mountain sight seeing point. 中書島から伏見城

Get down at Cyuusyo-jima station which is beside the west bank of Uji-river, and walk to south to Fushimi-harbour. The harbour is not work now and worked at Meiji era. Materials were transported between Kyoto and Osaka through Biwa-lake canal which run along East mountain range to Uji-river. There is a deference of water high level between Uji-river and Biwa-lake canal. So at here boats are down to Uji-river through special canal between 2 big gate. Those red getes are shown in followong picture.

 



 

Cherry blossoms along the canal are full blooming.

Walk to Fushimi-momoyama main street which was main street to Fushimi castle and the town was constructed by Hideyoshi de Toyotomi.

Cherry around Fushimi castle are also full blooming.



 

Go along fosse of the castle.

Go up to mountain named Rock-mountain and from there we can see Fushimi castle and Yawata- mountain over there. So you can understand that Fushimi castle was constructed at very important place. About 400 years ago, The area between the castle and Yawatamountain was almost muddy pond.

 Down to Fukakusa station of Keihan railway, and over Biwa-lake canal.
