Where to stay to visit Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and other Kinki area.

It is hard to stay in each city because of transit with heavy suitcase.
Therefore it is better to stay minimum points.
For the case I will recommend to stay Hirakata City because of follows.

(1)Hirakata city is middle point of Kyoto, Osaka and Nara. So, it is easy to go three cities by Keihan Railway. Also it is easy to go Takatsuki Station of  Japan Railway(JR) and Hankyu Railway by bus because there is a Hirakata big bridge over Yodo river between Hirakata City and Takatsuki City.
So, if you stay in Hirakata City , you can go anywhere of most Kinki area by one day trip with only a small shoulder because of Kinki area is relatively narrow area.
(2)View points of Kyoto continue along the East mountain range of Kyoto, from north end  Hiei- mountain to south mountain end Uji-Byodouin. And the Keihan Railway runs along the East moutain range. So easy to go view points of East area of Kyoto.
Also when you are tired, always any staion of Keihan railway is near from you.
(3) Streets of Kyoto is arranged as square patarns.
So you want anywhere in Kyoto, you get down a station of Keihan Railway which is on same horizontal line with the destination, and get on a bus which go to west and get down at the destination.  You can get a map of bus line anywhere.
And from the cross point of Tofukuji of Keihan Railway and Kyoto metro,  you can go almost anywhere of Kyoto by metro.
Keihan Railway serves economical ticket for not only east portion of Kyoto, but in collaboration with Nankai Railway for south portion of Kyoto.

(4)When you go to Nara, you can get on "Kintetsu Railway to Nara" at Tanbabashi Station of Keihan Railway.  Also using Kintetsu Railway, you can go Yoshino area where famous as cherry blossom mountain and also as histrical area.
(5) When you go to Osaka area, you can go cetral terminal of Osaka such as Yodoyabashi and Kyoubashi.  From there you can go anywhere of Osaka using Osaka Metro or JR's cirle line.
Also from Tenmabashi of Keihan you can go Osak castle on foot.
(6) From Takatsuki station of Hankyu, you can go west area such as Arashiyama and Kokedera.
(7) From Takatsuki station of JR, you can go" Biwa lake area" or" Himeji castle area" by day trip.
(8) Keihan Railway continues along Yodo river between Kyoto and Osaka, therefore there are so many histrical towns , street and temples as shown in this brog.
(9) Compared to famaous cities, Hotel fee is relativery reasonable.

Regarding train ticket it is usefull to use Icoca card wich is usefull for almost all train and bus lines in Kinki area.
Also each railway coapany supply their special tickets.
Keihan Railway is preparing followong passes for foreigners. those are very economical.
